Accordion Potatoes
To prepare accordion potatoes, you will need a bit more time and patience, but you will create a fun twist for your menu. Instead of herb butter, you can use olive oil, and the baked potatoes can be served with your favorite dip.
Details
- Preparation Time: 20 minutes
- Cooking Time: 40 minutes
- Difficulty: 2
- Spiciness: 0
- Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
4 pieces Potatoes, white
-
pieces Butter, unsalted
-
pieces Salt, table
Steps
-
Peel the potatoes and slice them lengthwise into pieces, no thicker than 1 cm. Place them in a bowl of cold water.
-
Place each slice separately on a cutting board and place two skewers alongside it. Use a knife to make vertical cuts as close together as possible across the entire surface. The skewers help prevent cutting all the way through the potato. Then turn the potato slice over and make diagonal cuts (see the video above!).
-
Pierce each slice lengthwise with a skewer, then carefully stretch and roll it into a spiral. Place them back into the bowl of cold water.
-
Preheat the oven to 205 degrees Celsius. Dry the spiral potato slices on paper towels, then arrange them on a baking tray and brush both sides with herb butter.
-
Bake the potatoes in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until they turn golden brown and become crispy.
