Almond-Chocolate Slices
To prepare delicious almond-chocolate slices, also known as homemade bajaderes, you dont need an oven. The pastry is very hard to mess up, you just need to make sure to store it in a cool place for a few hours (preferably overnight) before serving, so that the layers set and bind nicely together.

Steps

Line a baking tray (30 x 25 cm) with baking paper. In a pot, combine water and sugar and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the cubed butter and chocolate and stir until you get a smooth mixture.

Finely grind the biscuits and gradually add them to the sugar mixture. Mix well to get a uniform mixture, then transfer it to the baking tray and spread it evenly over the entire surface, about 1 cm high. Store the tray in a cool place.

In a pot, combine water and sugar and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the cubed butter, ground biscuits, and ground almonds. Mix the ingredients well to get a uniform mixture, then spread it evenly over the chocolate layer (about 1 cm high). Store the tray in a cool place.

Bring the sweet cream to a boil, pour it over the crushed chocolate, and temper it. Stir until you get a uniform chocolate mixture, then add the butter. Stir again until the butter and chocolate are well combined. Pour the prepared glaze over the light layer and spread it 2-3 mm thick over the entire surface.

Cool the pastry well before serving, then cut it into slices, serve on a nice plate or platter, and enjoy.
