Ingredients
-
650 g Meat, beef, ground
-
2 piece Onion, raw
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
3 spoons Breadcrumbs, dried
-
1 pinch Spices, chili powder
-
2 pinch Salt, table
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
2 spoons Oil, olive
-
1 can Tomato, pieces - can
-
2 spoons Raisins
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
50 g Olives, green, in brine
-
2 spoons Nuts, almonds
Steps
-
Place the ground meat in a large bowl. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Add half of the chopped onion along with the egg and breadcrumbs to the meat. Season to taste with chili, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands to ensure the flavors are well combined. Light the charcoal.
-
Place a large pan on the stove and heat the olive oil. Sauté the remaining onion and garlic over moderate heat until golden brown. Add the canned tomatoes and mash them with a spoon. Stir in the raisins and cinnamon and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the olives into small pieces and mix them with the chopped almonds. After 10 minutes, remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the almond and olive mixture.
-
Shape the meat into 20 balls using wet hands. Generously oil the wooden skewers and carefully thread the meatballs onto them. Brush the meatballs with oil and place them on a hot, oiled grill. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, turning them occasionally so they brown evenly on all sides. Place the cooked meatballs on plates and pour the prepared sauce over them.
