100 g Sugar, white

1 piece Spices, cinnamon, ground

Steps

Wash the apples, peel them, and remove the stems and cores. Cut them into slices or cubes, place them in a pot, and pour lemon juice over them.

Add sugar, a cinnamon stick, cloves, and lemon zest, then pour water over everything. Bring the contents to a gentle boil over moderate heat. Reduce the temperature and let the compote simmer on low heat for another 10 minutes. Stir it gently a few times with a ladle in between.

When the compote is ready, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly. Then serve it in bowls and enjoy.

Advice
It is best to use an organic lemon, the peel of which has not been treated with pesticides. If you do not have an organic lemon, immerse the lemon in boiling water for a few minutes and wipe it well to remove the wax, which contains toxins. You can also add dried plums and raisins to the compote.
