Steps

In a food processor, finely grind the cereal and nuts. Grind the ingredients until you get a flour-like mixture. Wash the apples, peel if desired, and grate them.

In a bowl, mix the ground cereal and nuts, sugar, and cinnamon. Grease a deep rectangular baking dish (size 22 x 18 cm) with butter. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
-
Cover the bottom of the greased baking dish with about one cup of the dry mixture, pressing it lightly with your palm. Spread half of the grated apples over the dry mixture and cover with 1.5 to 2 cups of the dry mixture. Follow with the remaining apples and finally the rest of the dry mixture. Distribute thinly sliced butter on top of the dessert. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, until the top is nicely browned and baked.

The dessert can be served warm or cold. It pairs excellently with Greek yogurt, vanilla cream, or lemon cream.

Advice
If the dessert is served on the same day it is prepared, it is very soft. If stored in the refrigerator overnight, it slightly firms up and is therefore easier to slice.
