500 g Apples, rose

30 g Butter, unsalted

Steps

Peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into smaller pieces. Place them in a pot along with butter, sugar, cinnamon, grated lemon zest, and three tablespoons of lemon juice. Cook for 10 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch. While stirring, pour the mixture into the pot with the apples and cook for another 5 minutes. If you prefer softer apples in your dessert, you can cook them a bit longer. Remove the pot from the heat and let the apples cool.

Melt the butter. Crush or grind the cookies, then mix them with the melted butter. Set aside two tablespoons of the buttery crumbs, and spread the rest evenly over the bottom of a baking dish, sized 30 by 20 centimeters. Press the cookies firmly to create an even base.

In one bowl, whip the cream together with vanilla sugar. In another bowl, mix the cream cheese and sugar, then fold in the whipped cream using a spatula.

Spread half of the cream mixture over the cookie base, followed by a layer of apples, and cover with the remaining cream mixture. Sprinkle the reserved buttery cookie crumbs on top. Refrigerate the dessert for at least two hours before slicing.
