-
250 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola

0.5 teaspoons Salt, table

Steps
-
Place the flour on a clean work surface. Make a well in the center and pour in the oil, add salt, and enough lukewarm water to knead into a smooth, elastic dough. Shape the dough into a ball, brush it with oil, cover it with a bowl, and let it rest for 20 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line a low baking dish with parchment paper. Wash the apples, peel them, and grate them into a large bowl. Discard the stems and cores. Mix the grated apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and hazelnuts. Melt the butter in a pan and toast the breadcrumbs until golden brown.
-
Roll out the dough on a floured work surface. Then transfer it to a floured cloth and stretch it thinly on all sides. Trim the thick edges of the dough with a knife. Spread the toasted breadcrumbs over the dough. Spread the apples over 2/3 of the dough and fold the shorter side inward. Using the cloth, roll the dough along the longer side. Start rolling from the side with the filling.
-
Carefully place the strudel into the baking dish and brush it with butter. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
-
Let the baked strudel rest and cool slightly. Dust it with powdered sugar, slice it diagonally, and serve.

Advice
Optionally, you can add a little rum to the filling. Use sour apples for desserts. The strudel can also be made with store-bought stretched dough.
