Ingredients
-
500 g Apricot, raw
-
110 g Sugar, white
-
125 ml Water
-
125 ml Juice, orange
Steps
-
Wash the apricots, clean them, and remove the pits. Place a pot with sugar and water on the stove. Heat the mixture over moderate heat, stirring constantly until all the sugar dissolves. Then add the pitted apricots and bring the mixture to a boil. Let it boil for 5 minutes, then remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool.
-
Pour the cooled apricots along with the liquid into a blender and blend into a smooth puree. Mix the orange juice into the apricot puree.
-
Pour the mixture into a 20 x 30 cm dish that is at least 5 cm deep and can be placed in the freezer. Then place the dish in the freezer for 3 to 4 hours. Every half hour, stir the granita well with a fork and scrape the ice crystals from the edges of the dish. Repeat the process until a firm consistency is achieved.
-
Chill the glasses (or bowls) in which you will serve the granita in the refrigerator before serving. Then, using a spoon, slowly scrape the frozen granita from the dish and place it into the chilled glasses.
