Ingredients
-
350 g Bread, wheat
-
500 g Meat, chicken, breasts
-
1 spoon Spices, paprika
-
2 piece Tomato, red
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
80 g Salad, soft
-
1 cup Chickpea, cooked
-
1 spoon Oil, olive
Steps
-
Thoroughly wash the chicken breasts under running water and dry them with paper towels. Cut them into thinner and smaller pieces, then place them in a bowl. Sprinkle the gyros seasoning mix over them and mix the meat well. Peel the onion, wash it, and slice it into rings. Wash the tomatoes well, remove the green part, and cut them into small pieces. Wash the lettuce under running water, clean it, and dry it.
-
Place a pan on the stove and pour in the oil, heating it well for 2 minutes. Be careful not to let the oil start smoking! Add the seasoned meat to the hot oil and fry it for 5 to 7 minutes over moderate heat until nicely browned. Stir the meat several times while frying to ensure the pieces are evenly browned on all sides.
-
Quickly warm the pita bread in the oven at 100 °C. Spread hummus on the warm pita bread and arrange the onion, tomato, and lettuce over it. Place the meat pieces on top of the vegetables. Fold the pita bread and serve the gyros while still warm.
