Ingredients

1 cup Nuts, almonds

2 piece Egg, egg white, fresh

2 spoons Sugar, white

1 teaspoon Sugar, turbinado

0.75 teaspoons Spices, cumin, seeds

2 pinch Spices, cinnamon, ground

1 pinch Spices, cloves, ground

0.5 teaspoons Salt, table

0.5 teaspoons Spices, pepper, red or cayenne

340 g Meat, pork, smoked bacon

0.5 cups Sugar, brown
Steps

Turn on the oven and set it to 160 °C. In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg whites with a hand whisk. Add the walnuts and mix everything well. In another bowl, mix the white sugar, spices, salt, and pepper, then add the mixture to the walnuts.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper, sprinkle the seasoned walnuts on it, and place the tray in the preheated oven. While baking, stir the walnuts several times with a spatula and break up any clumps. Bake them for 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer the baked walnuts to a glass bowl.

Increase the oven temperature to 175 °C. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on parchment paper on the baking tray and sprinkle both sides with brown sugar. Bake them in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and caramelized.

Let the baked bacon cool on a rack, then cut it into bite-sized pieces and mix them with the walnuts. Serve the prepared snack.
