Ingredients
-
500 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
1.25 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1.25 teaspoons Yeast, dry
-
3 spoons Oil, olive
-
1 spoon Honey
-
300 ml Water
-
1 spoon Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps
-
Prepare a large bowl, add the flour, and salt the edges. Make a well in the center of the flour, add the yeast and honey. While mixing, gradually pour in the oil and enough lukewarm water to form a soft dough. Turn the dough onto a floured work surface and knead for about 10 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic. Well-kneaded dough should not stick to your hands or the surface. Place the dough in a bowl, cover it with oiled plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
-
Turn the risen dough onto a floured work surface and knead it well again. Divide the dough into 3 roughly equal parts. Roll each piece of dough into a log about 30 cm long.
-
Prepare a large baking tray, grease it well, and then place the prepared logs on it. Use a sharp knife to make four diagonal slashes on each log at equal intervals. Cover the logs again with oiled plastic wrap and let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes until they have nicely expanded.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Lightly dust the logs with flour, then place the tray in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Use a palette knife to separate the logs from the tray, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
