Ingredients
Filling
-
2 spoons Oat bran, raw
-
2 spoons Walnuts
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
2 spoons Sugar, brown
-
1.5 teaspoons Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
1.5 spoons Butter, unsalted
-
pieces Butter, unsalted
-
2 piece Apple, fresh
-
2 spoons Sugar, brown
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
1.5 spoons Butter, unsalted
-
pieces Honey
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Lightly grease a baking dish with butter. Peel the apples and use a round cutter to remove the stems and cores. Cut them in half and place them in the greased baking dish (cut side down).
-
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Spread this mixture over the top of the apple halves. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
-
While the apples are baking, prepare the topping. In a bowl, add oats, chopped walnuts, salt, flour, and brown sugar. Pour in melted butter and mix the ingredients well to form a thick mixture.
-
Remove the baking dish from the oven and carefully take off the aluminum foil. Spoon the prepared topping over the apple halves. Return the apples to the oven for another 10 minutes. At the very end, turn on the broiler and bake the apples for an additional 2 minutes to brown them nicely.
-
Serve the baked apples on plates. Optionally, drizzle them with a little honey and serve with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or Greek yogurt.
