Ingredients
-
3 pieces Egg, fresh
-
60 g Sugar, white
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
0.5 l Milk, whole milk
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla, extract, natural
-
4 pinch Spices, nutmeg, ground
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 160°C. Rinse the round pudding molds with cold water and place them in a deep baking dish. Bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil in a kettle.
-
In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to combine milk, eggs, vanilla, salt, and sugar until you get a smooth, light yellow mixture. Pour the mixture into the pudding molds. Sprinkle a little nutmeg on top.
-
Carefully place the baking dish in the preheated oven and pour enough hot water into the dish to reach two-thirds of the height of the pudding molds.
-
Bake the egg custard for 45-55 minutes, or until the custard is set. Test for doneness by inserting a thin knife into the custard - if it comes out clean, the custard is ready.
-
Remove the baked egg custard from the oven and let it cool slightly. Place the molds with the cooled custard in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
