Ingredients
-
1 kg Potatoes, white
-
3 pieces Egg, egg yolk, fresh
-
1 dl Sweet cream
-
3 spoons Butter, unsalted
-
1 teaspoon Spices, nutmeg, ground
-
2 teaspoons Salt, table
-
0.5 teaspoons Spices, pepper, white
-
1 spoon Thyme, raw
Steps
-
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and wash them. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Add a teaspoon of salt and cook over moderate heat for 20 minutes. Drain the potatoes, transfer them to a bowl, and mash them – you can use an electric mixer, making sure there are no small chunks of potato left. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
-
Add butter, sour cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the potatoes. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites into two bowls. Discard the egg whites or use them in another dish, and add the yolks to the bowl. Mix everything together again with an electric mixer until you get a smooth mixture. Take a heatproof dish (or dishes) that you have greased, and pour the mashed potatoes into it. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs and serve.
