Ingredients
-
400 g Pasta, Macaroni
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
50 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
600 ml Milk, whole milk
-
250 g Cheese, Gouda
-
pieces Salt, table
-
340 g Fish, tuna, in brine
-
300 g Corn, yellow, in brine
-
0.25 bouquet Parsley, fresh
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Drain the corn from the can, rinse it thoroughly under running water, and set aside. Drain the tuna from the can, break it into smaller pieces with a fork, and remove any excess liquid.
-
In a large pot, bring a generous amount of water to a boil for cooking the pasta. Just before the water boils, add salt to increase the boiling power. Add the penne to the boiling water and cook for 2 minutes less than the time indicated on the package.
-
While the penne is cooking, prepare the béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a larger saucepan. Add the flour and cook it for one minute while constantly stirring. Then gradually pour in the warm milk, stirring to prevent lumps from forming. Continue stirring and cooking until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes). Remove the saucepan from the heat and mix in a handful of grated cheese. Season the sauce with pepper and salt to taste.
-
Rinse the parsley under running water, shake it dry, and roughly chop it. Drain the cooked penne and transfer it to a large bowl, where you mix it with the béchamel sauce, tuna, parsley, and corn. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle grated cheese on top. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese melts and turns golden brown. Serve the prepared dish with a large bowl of seasonal salad.

Advice
Instead of penne, you can use other types of pasta (snails, spirals, macaroni, etc.). Aged Gouda can be replaced with another cheese of your choice (Parmesan, Edam, Gouda, etc.). A combination of regular Gouda and Parmesan also works great.
