Ingredients
-
4 pieces Potatoes, white
-
pieces Salt, table
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. First, wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water (scrub if necessary) and dry them with paper towels. Pierce the skin in several places along the length with a fork, lightly coat with oil, and sprinkle with salt.
-
Arrange the potatoes on a rack and bake in the preheated oven in the middle position for about 60 minutes or until the potato flesh inside is completely softened (this can be checked by inserting a narrow and thin knife into the tuber - if it pierces easily, the potato is baked).
-
Make lengthwise cuts in the baked potatoes with a knife and gently squeeze them at the bottom to open them up. Top them with a piece of butter, sprinkle with salt, serve on a plate, and enjoy.

Advice
If baked potatoes in their skin are served as a side dish, choose medium-sized tubers; for a main dish, larger tubers are more suitable. Baked potatoes can be enriched with the addition of freshly chopped herbs. Parsley, chives, and dill work exceptionally well.
