Ingredients
-
4 pieces Quince
-
50 ml Alcohol, Rum
-
50 g Raisins
-
80 g Butter, unsalted
-
1 handful Walnuts
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
160 g Sugar, white
-
pieces Juice, lemon
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Place the raisins in a small bowl and pour rum over them. Grease a small deep baking dish with 20 g of butter. First, wash the quinces, then dry them thoroughly with a kitchen towel to remove the fuzz on the surface. Clean the fruits, cut them in half, and use a round cutter (you can also use a spoon or knife) to remove the core. Be careful not to damage the fruit. Coarsely chop the walnuts.
-
Drain the raisins and place them in a bowl. Add the walnuts, four tablespoons of sugar, 60 g of butter, and cinnamon. Mix everything well. Place the bottom halves of the quinces in the greased baking dish. Fill them with the prepared walnut mixture and cover with the top halves. Pour enough water into the dish to fully cover the bottom. Add the remaining sugar and lemon juice, then place the dish in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.
-
During baking, take the dish out of the oven several times and baste the quinces with the sweet sauce. Once the quinces have softened, remove the dish from the oven. Serve the baked quinces on plates and accompany them with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
