Ingredients
-
2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
750 g Carniolan sausage
-
2 piece Onion, raw
-
3 pods Garlic, fresh
-
400 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
420 g Beans, baked, can
-
pieces Spices, pepper, black
Steps
-
Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop them. Wash the sausages and dry them well with paper towels.
-
Heat oil in a large deep pan and fry the sausages. Cook them for about 8 minutes, turning them occasionally so they brown nicely on all sides. Remove the cooked sausages from the pan and set aside on a plate. Add the chopped onion to the pan and sauté for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until translucent and slightly softened. Add the garlic and tomato paste, stir, and use a spatula to scrape the bottom of the pan to release all the caramelized bits from cooking the sausages. Cook the sauce on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Add the pre-cooked beans to the pan. Mix well and arrange the cooked sausages on top. Cover the pan and bring the contents to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer gently for another 10 minutes.
-
Season the prepared dish with salt and pepper, then serve on plates with mashed potatoes.

Advice
Instead of pre-cooked beans, you can also use regular canned beans, which you rinse under running water and drain well.
