Baked Stuffed Bananas
A great idea for a quick and very simple banana dessert, prepared in the oven, on the grill, or over the embers. You can play around with the toppings endlessly: once use a combination of chocolate and marshmallows, another time try chocolate, caramel, and peanuts.

Ingredients
-
4 pieces Banana, fresh
-
pieces chocolate, dark
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Hold the banana in your hand with the stem facing upward. Insert the knife one centimeter from the end of the banana and make a deep cut along the length of the peel, stopping half a centimeter before the stem (the depth of the cut should be about 2/3 of the banana).
-
Gently spread the banana along the cut with your fingers to create an opening, into which you can add any desired toppings: chocolate chunks, marshmallows, chopped nuts, dried fruit, coconut, peanut (or hazelnut) butter… Gently press the toppings into the banana flesh with your fingers.
-
Bake the stuffed bananas in the preheated oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the peel darkens and the banana flesh and toppings, such as chocolate and marshmallows, soften. It’s best to bake the bananas directly on the oven rack, but if they have trouble standing upright, place them in "boats" made from aluminum foil.
-
Serve the prepared dessert while still warm.

Advice
Stuffed bananas can also be baked on the grill or over the embers. In the first case, make boats out of aluminum foil and place the stuffed bananas inside, in the second case, wrap the bananas completely in aluminum foil. The baking time on the grill or over the embers may be slightly shorter than in the oven.
