Ingredients
-
6 pieces Banana, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
2 teaspoons Spices, turmeric, ground
-
pieces Oil, plant, coconut
Steps
-
Peel the bananas and slice them thinly with a sharp knife, about 3 mm thick.
-
Fill a bowl with one liter of cold water and add salt and turmeric. Mix well until the salt dissolves. Soak the banana slices in the water for 10 minutes. Line the counter with paper towels and place the soaked banana slices on them. Cover the banana slices with another layer of paper towels to dry them.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan with a thick bottom. The oil layer should be at least 3 cm deep. The oil is hot enough when bubbles start to form around the handle of a wooden spoon dipped into the oil. Gradually fry the banana slices in the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan, as the slices won't fry evenly. Fry the slices quickly, for about one or two minutes.
-
Remove the fried banana slices from the oil with a slotted spoon. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
-
Once cooled and drained, transfer the fried banana slices to a bowl and serve.
