Banana Split
A quick dessert that even children can prepare themselves. It was conceived in 1904 by David Strickler in the USA (so the banana split has no connection to Split). Banana with ice cream and chocolate sauce or banana split is a world-famous dessert.

Ingredients
-
100 g chocolate, dark
-
1 dl Milk, whole milk
-
20 g Butter, unsalted
-
4 pieces Banana, fresh
-
2 spoons Juice, lemon
-
2 dl Sweet cream
-
30 g Sugar, white
-

-
4 spoon Ice cream, vanilla
-
4 spoon Ice cream, vanilla
-
60 g Nuts, almonds

Steps
-
First, make the chocolate sauce. Place a pot with about half a liter of water on the stove and wait for it to boil. Break the chocolate into a smaller heatproof bowl, add butter and milk. Place the bowl over the pot of boiling water. Stir with a whisk until the chocolate melts and you get a smooth mixture.
-
Whip the sweet cream with powdered sugar until stiff. Peel the bananas, cut them in half lengthwise, divide them into elongated bowls, and immediately drizzle with lemon juice.
-
Top the bananas with ice cream, pour over the chocolate sauce, and decorate with dollops of whipped cream. Finally, garnish the dessert with candied cherries and sprinkle with almonds or peanuts. Serve the prepared dessert immediately.

Advice
In the original American version, we use maple syrup for the topping. Whipped cream will be whipped faster and more beautifully if taken directly from the refrigerator before whipping. Drizzle bananas with lemon juice to give them a more pronounced and fuller flavor and to maintain their bright color.
