Bananas Foster
The famous and popular American dessert is named after Richard Foster, a citizen who made significant contributions to the city of New Orleans. In some restaurants, the dessert is still prepared and flambéed at the table, in front of curious guests.

Ingredients

4 pieces Bananas, plantain

50 g Sugar, brown

60 g Butter, unsalted

0.25 teaspoons Spices, cinnamon, ground

80 ml Alcohol, Rum

1 l Ice cream, vanilla
Steps

Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Place a pan on the stove and melt the butter in it. Add sugar and stir for about 2 minutes until it heats up and dissolves. Place the banana halves in the pan and cook them for 3 to 5 minutes until they soften. Turn them once during cooking. Sprinkle the cooked bananas with cinnamon.

Remove the pan from the heat and pour rum over the bananas. Then return the pan to the stove and wait for the rum to heat up. Ignite the rum with a match or lighter. While flambéing, baste the bananas several times with the sauce from the pan.

Once the flame goes out, arrange the bananas on dessert plates. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center of each plate. Drizzle the dessert with the sauce from the pan and serve immediately.
