700 g Green beans, fresh

1 piece Small pumpkins

100 g Cheese, Cheddar

1 pinch Spices, nutmeg, ground

2 spoons Breadcrumbs, dried

50 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

0.5 spoons Baking powder

1 teaspoon Sugar, white

1 piece Egg, fresh

1 dl Milk, skimmed

1 pinch Salt, table

1 pinch Spices, pepper, black

pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
Steps

Clean the green beans (trim the stems and remove any strings), wash them, and drain. Cut them into 5 cm pieces. Place them in a pot and cover with enough water to fully submerge them. Add half a teaspoon of salt to the beans. Place the pot on the stove and wait for the water to boil. Then reduce the heat slightly and cook the beans for another 10 minutes. Drain the cooked beans well. Transfer them to a bowl and cover to keep warm.

Next, prepare the béchamel sauce using flour, milk, and butter as described. Peel and grate the zucchini. Grate the cheese as well. Once the sauce is ready, transfer it to a bowl and mix thoroughly with the green beans.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Prepare a larger ovenproof dish, transfer half of the beans with the sauce into it, and sprinkle the grated zucchini evenly over the surface. Add the remaining half of the beans and top the casserole with the grated cheese.

Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the fried onion rings.

Remove the baked bean casserole from the oven, top with the fried onion rings, and serve directly from the dish.
