Ingredients
Marinade
-
3 spoons Juice, lemon
-
1 pod Garlic, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Spices, garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon Spices, onion powder
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cumin, seeds
-
pieces chili sauce
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
700 g Meat, beef, shoulder
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Bell pepper, green, fresh
-
1 piece Bell pepper, red, fresh
Steps
-
In a bowl, prepare the marinade using two tablespoons of oil, lemon juice, garlic, onion, cumin, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Clean the meat if necessary and cut it into thin, several-centimeter-long strips, then add them to the bowl with the marinade. Mix everything well, cover the bowl, and store it in the refrigerator for several hours (preferably overnight) to allow the meat to absorb all the flavors.
-
Take the marinated meat out of the refrigerator at least 15 minutes before cooking. Peel the onion, halve it, and slice it. Wash the pepper, clean it (remove the stem and seeds), and cut it into strips approximately the same size as the meat.
-
Heat the remaining oil in a large skillet and sauté the sliced onion until translucent. Add the marinated meat and once it is nicely browned, add the sliced pepper. Stir and cook on high heat until the pepper is nicely roasted and slightly softened. Season to taste and remove from heat.
-
Serve the prepared dish in a hot cast-iron skillet and accompany it with tortillas and various sauces.
