We prepare them when we have leftover egg whites from baking, and the little sweet-tooths will gladly help us decorate them.

Ingredients
-
4 pieces Egg, egg white, fresh
-
0.25 teaspoons Baking powder
-
200 g Sugar, white
-
pieces Sugar, white
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 110 degrees Celsius. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue mixing. When soft peaks form, start adding the sugar. Reduce the mixer speed to medium and add the sugar one tablespoon at a time. When the sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks form, mix in the vanilla extract.
-
Transfer the beaten egg whites into a piping bag and pipe them in the shape of Christmas trees onto the baking sheets (use a star-shaped tip). Decorate them with pearl sprinkles.
-
Bake the egg white trees in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure they remain beautifully white during baking. When baked, turn off the oven and leave the door slightly open. Let them cool completely in the turned-off oven.

Advice
Instead of cream of tartar, you can mix half a teaspoon of cornstarch into the egg whites. This will make the mixture smoother and firmer.
