Black Cake
Argentinians call this cake "torta negra". The preparation of the cake came to South America with immigrants who brought nothing but dried fruits, nuts, honey, and alcohol. Women created a cake that could last for several months.

1 cup Nuts, Brazilian, dried

1 dl Alcohol, Rum

2 cups Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

In a bowl, combine the nuts, raisins, and dried fruits. Pour rum over the mixture and let it soak overnight.

The next day, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Drain the dried fruits, nuts, and raisins well. In a bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy, then gradually mix in the egg yolks, molasses, and honey. Mix until you get a smooth and uniform batter. Then slowly mix in the flour, cinnamon, and baking powder. Finally, gently fold in the nuts, raisins, and dried fruits.

In a separate bowl, beat the remaining egg whites into stiff peaks, then gently and slowly fold them into the batter using a hand whisk (or spoon). Carefully transfer the batter into a greased round cake pan. Gently tap the pan to evenly distribute the batter. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, then check if it's done by inserting a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is done; otherwise, bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Let the baked cake cool in the pan, then remove it and transfer it to a serving plate. Slice and serve.
