Bograč
If youre in the mood for a spoonful meal but are afraid youll get hungry too quickly after such a lunch, cook bograč. But take your time, as there are no shortcuts for this dish, named after the shepherds pot. Bograč consists of at least three different types of meat, vegetables, potatoes, and spices, and it takes quite some time to cook.

Ingredients

2 spoons Fat, beef tallow

750 g Onion, raw

25 dag Meat, beef, side

25 dag Game meat, roe deer, fresh

25 dag Meat, pork, shoulder

2 pod Garlic, fresh

pieces Spices, bay (leaves)

1 spoon Spices, paprika

1 piece Chili peppers, red chili, fresh

1.5 dl Alcohol, Wine, Red

1 dl Tomato sauce, without salt

600 g Potatoes, white
Steps

Finely chop the onion and sauté it in fat for about half an hour until softened (be careful not to let it change color).

Add the diced beef, slowly simmer over moderate heat, and after about 20 minutes, add the diced game meat. Simmer again, and after 20 minutes, add the diced pork. Stir, quickly sauté, and add all the spices and the sliced chili pepper. Pour in tomato puree and wine, and cook over low heat for about 1 hour. Stir occasionally and add more liquid (wine, water) if needed.

Finally, add the diced potatoes, which have been boiled in salted water, to the cooked bograč. Simmer everything together for a little longer. Season with salt and pepper or add more spices if needed. Serve the dish with fresh bread.
