Bread Pudding with Cottage Cheese

Steps

Cut the bread into pieces. Place it in a bowl and pour milk over it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs.

Whisk the egg yolks, softened butter, and both types of sugar until frothy. Mix in the cottage cheese and grated lemon zest. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.

Gently and slowly fold the soaked bread and beaten egg whites into the yolk-cottage cheese mixture using a spatula. Pour the mixture into the baking dish, cover it with a lid (aluminum foil), and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.

After 40 minutes of baking, remove the cover and bake the pudding for a little longer until the top turns golden brown. Serve it while still warm, and sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
