Ingredients
-
500 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
1 bag Yeast, dry
-
1 teaspoon Sugar, white
-
1 teaspoon Salt, table
-
2 spoons Oil, olive
-
300 ml Water
-
2 teaspoons Rosemary, fresh
-
50 g Tomato, dried
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
45 g Butter, unsalted
-
250 g Cheese, Brie
-
pieces Pine nuts
Steps
-
Sift the flour into a bowl and mix it with salt, sugar, and yeast. Add the oil and approximately ¾ of the water, then mix the ingredients well with a mixer or by hand until they combine and form a rough and quite sticky dough. Gradually add the remaining water as needed.
-
Lightly moisten the work surface, then place the dough on it and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes completely smooth, soft, and elastic. If it is too sticky, add a little more flour. If desired, knead in chopped fresh rosemary and/or chopped sun-dried tomatoes.
-
Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, covered with a clean cloth. Let it rise in a warm place until its volume doubles.
-
Place baking paper on a low baking dish. Place a heatproof dish (you can also use half of the wooden packaging in which the brie is bought) in the center of the dish and place a wheel of cheese in it.
-
Place the kneaded dough on a lightly moistened work surface. Divide it into pieces weighing between 20 to 30 grams, shaping them into balls with your hands. Arrange them in a heart shape around the dish with the brie. Place them side by side, leaving no gaps between them. Instead of a heart shape, you can also arrange the balls in a circle.
-
Once all the balls are arranged, cover the bread rolls with a piece of plastic wrap and let them rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to rise.
-
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Brush the bread rolls with beaten egg before baking. Add 1-2 teaspoons of pesto to the brie if desired.
-
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Brush the still warm bread rolls with melted butter. Serve the dish immediately. Enjoy it by tearing the bread rolls apart and dipping them into the melted baked brie.
