Ingredients
-
pieces Bread, wheat
-
pieces Milk, whole milk
-
1 bag Sugar, white
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Cut the stale bread into slices about 1.5 cm thick. Prepare two deep plates or shallow bowls. Pour milk into one and add vanilla sugar. Mix until the sugar dissolves. In the other, crack the eggs and beat them well with a fork.
-
Place a deeper pan on the stove and heat a layer of oil. First, soak the bread slices in the milk (just enough to absorb slightly), then dip them into the beaten eggs, and finally fry them until golden brown in the heated oil. While frying, flip them to ensure they are nicely colored and cooked on both sides.
-
Place the fried slices on paper towels to drain any excess fat. Serve while still hot and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Advice
Instead of oil, you can use lard or butter (a combination of oil and butter also works very well).
