Buhtlji
Many people, when tasting buhtlji, think of a warm kitchen and cold autumn-winter days when their mother served them warm buhtlji and a glass of milk. Buhtlji prepared according to the recipe below are very light, soft, and fluffy, and you can fill them with any marmalade or hazelnut spread.

Ingredients
Dough

350 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour

0.5 cubes Yeast, dry

2 spoons Sugar, white

1.5 dl Milk, whole milk

30 g Butter, unsalted

1 teaspoon Salt, table

1 spoon Oil, plant, sunflower

2 piece Egg, fresh

pieces Lemon zest, fresh

pieces Marmalade, orange

50 g Butter, unsalted

pieces Powdered sugar
Steps

Sift the flour into a bowl. Make a well in the center and crumble the yeast into it (if using dry yeast, sprinkle it into the well). Add sugar and pour in lukewarm milk in which 30 grams of butter have been melted. Mix lightly and let it sit for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.

Add salt, oil, grated lemon zest, and eggs. Knead all the ingredients well. This can be done using a kitchen robot (use the dough hooks) or knead the dough by hand. If it feels too sticky, add more flour until it is soft to the touch and not sticky.

Let the kneaded dough rise until it doubles in volume (about 45 minutes).

Roll out the risen dough to about half a centimeter thick. Use a pizza cutter to cut it into squares of any size.

Place one teaspoon of filling (marmalade or hazelnut spread) in the center of each square.

Melt 50 grams of butter in a cup. Pull the corners of the square over the filling and press them together at the top to form a 'ball,' making sure the dough fully covers the filling and there are no openings through which the filling could escape during baking. Brush the buhtelj with butter on all sides, then place it in a baking dish greased with butter. Arrange the buhtlji side by side in the dish.

Once all the buhtlji are placed in the baking dish, cover it and let them rise for 15 minutes before baking.

Bake the buhtlji for about 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius.

Serve the baked buhtlji while still warm, and sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
