Ingredients
-
200 g Butter, unsalted
-
100 g Sugar, white
-
300 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
Steps
-
Line a low baking tray with parchment paper. Sift the flour into a bowl. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to mix the diced butter and sugar. Mix on high speed for 4 to 5 minutes until you get a slightly creamy mixture.
-
Add the flour and mix it into the butter mixture with a spatula or spoon. Be careful not to mix the ingredients for too long—just enough to form a crumbly mixture. Use your hands to bring it together into a uniform dough, then transfer it from the bowl to a clean work surface. Lightly dust the work surface with flour if needed. Flatten the dough slightly with your hands, then roll it out to 0.5 cm thickness.
-
Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes. Transfer the cookies to the prepared baking tray using a spatula. Place the tray with the cookies in the refrigerator for half an hour to chill thoroughly.
-
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Before placing the cookies in the oven, sprinkle them with sugar. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
-
Immediately transfer the baked cookies from the tray to a wire rack and let them cool completely. Serve them with tea or coffee.

Optionally, you can add a bit of vanilla extract (flavoring), ground cinnamon, or grated orange or lemon zest to the dough.
