Calf Liver in Cream Sauce
A very tasty homemade dish that is suitable for a snack with bread, or for lunch or dinner with potatoes, polenta, dumplings, or pasta.

Ingredients

3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola

50 dag Meat, veal, liver

1 piece Onion, raw

4 spoon Sour cream

1 spoon Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

3 dl Soup base, beef, cube

Steps

Wash the liver and dry it thoroughly with kitchen towels. Remove the membranes and cut it into slices about 0.5 cm thick, then lightly season with pepper. Peel the onion and cut it in half. Slice both halves thinly.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoned liver slices on both sides. Cook them for about 7 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside on a plate. Add the onion to the pan and sauté, stirring occasionally, until softened.

Prepare the sauce: in a small bowl, mix the cream, flour, and broth. Return the liver to the pan with the sautéed onion and pour the prepared sauce over everything. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Season the prepared dish with pepper and salt to taste. Serve on plates with bread or your chosen side dish.
