Ingredients
-
350 g Ginger, fresh
-
225 g Sugar, white
-
120 ml Water
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Wash the ginger. Place a pot on the stove and add the ginger along with enough water to completely cover it. Bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer at a moderate temperature for 15 minutes. Drain the ginger, peel it, and cut it into smaller cubes.
-
In another pot, mix 120 ml of water and sugar. Place the pot on the stove and heat the mixture. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then continue cooking at a moderate temperature while stirring constantly for 15 minutes to create a sugar syrup.
-
Add the ginger cubes to the pot with the syrup and reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Mix the contents of the pot well. Cook at a low temperature until the ginger absorbs all the syrup (approximately 10 minutes). Stir occasionally during cooking.
-
Transfer the ginger cubes onto parchment paper to cool. Then, dust them with powdered sugar and mix to ensure the sugar coats all sides of the cubes. The cubes can be served immediately or stored in an airtight jar, where they will remain delicious for a long time.
