Ingredients
Béchamel
-
50 g Butter, unsalted
-
50 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
600 ml Milk, whole milk
-
140 g Cheese, edamame
-
pieces Salt, table
-
3 spoons Oil, olive
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
4 pods Garlic, fresh
-
1 kg Meat, beef, ground
-
500 g Tomato sauce, without salt
-
400 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
2 pinch Spices, mayonnaise, dried
-
pieces Salt, table
-
400 g Pasta, Macaroni
-
100 g Cheese, Parmesan, grated
Steps
-
Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop them separately. In a bowl, mix the pureed and chopped tomatoes.
-
Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the garlic and cook it with the onion just until fragrant (about 1 minute), then add the ground meat. Stir and cook until the meat browns and firms up (use a spatula to break larger pieces into smaller chunks). Pour in 2/3 of the tomato mixture, mix well, and season. Simmer the sauce over medium heat for 20 minutes.
-
While the sauce is cooking, prepare the béchamel. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and cook it while stirring continuously for one minute. Gradually pour in warm milk and stir to prevent lumps from forming. Continue stirring and cooking until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes). Remove the saucepan from the heat and mix in the grated cheese. Season with pepper and salt to taste.
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Pour the remaining tomato mixture into a deep baking dish and spread it evenly across the bottom using a spatula or the back of a spoon. Stuff the cannelloni with the prepared meat filling (use a spoon to help). Arrange the stuffed rolls side by side in the baking dish, pour the prepared béchamel over them, and sprinkle grated Parmesan on top. Bake the cannelloni in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
