Light, soft, and very tasty homemade buns that you can use to make delicious sandwiches or burgers. They are also excellent as a side dish for stews, roasts, and spoon meals.

Ingredients
Dough

280 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose

7 g Yeast, dry

0.25 teaspoons Salt, table

1 teaspoon Sugar, white

50 g Cheese, Parmesan, grated

50 g Cheese, Cheddar

180 ml Water

1 spoon Oil, olive

1 piece Egg, fresh

In a bowl, sift the flour and mix it with yeast, sugar, salt, and both types of grated cheese. Make a well in the center and pour in water, olive oil, and a beaten egg. Mix the ingredients well with your fingers or a fork until they come together to form a rough dough.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead it well until it becomes soft and elastic, and no longer sticks to your hands or the work surface. If it’s too soft, add a bit more flour; if it’s too stiff, add a bit more water. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Cover with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (1 to 2 hours).

Transfer the risen dough to a lightly floured work surface. Quickly knead it, shape it into a thick roll, and cut it into 6 to 7 pieces. Line a low baking tray with lightly greased baking paper. Shape the dough pieces into balls with your hands and place them on the prepared tray. Leave a little space between them as they will rise a bit more. Once all the balls are on the tray, cover them with a clean cloth and let them rise at room temperature for 60 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Before baking, brush the buns with milk and sprinkle with grated Parmesan or cheddar. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Serve while still warm or let them cool before serving.
