Ingredients
Butter crumbs
-
110 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
70 g Butter, unsalted
-
30 g Sugar, white
-
1 spoon Butter, unsalted
-
220 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
0.75 teaspoons Baking powder
-
50 g Nuts, almonds
-
150 g Sugar, white
-
100 g Butter, unsalted
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
50 g Yogurt, plain, from whole milk
-
2 spoons Milk, whole milk
-
400 g cherries, fresh
Steps
-
Sort the cherries, wash them, and remove the pits. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a deep rectangular baking dish (approximately 26 x 20 cm) well with butter.
-
Sift the flour into a bowl and mix it with baking powder and ground almonds. In another bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, milk, yogurt, and eggs. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in two or three batches. Mix until you get a smooth batter without lumps.
-
Pour the prepared batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula or spoon. Scatter the cherries over the batter.
-
Finally, prepare the butter crumble. Sift the flour into a bowl and add the diced butter. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Mix the butter crumble with sugar and sprinkle it over the cherries.
-
Bake the pastry in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until the butter crumble on top turns golden brown.

Advice
Instead of cherries, you can use sour cherries, but in that case, slightly increase the amount of sugar.
