Ingredients
-
pieces Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
600 g Meat, chicken, breasts
-
2 piece Onion, raw
-
3 pieces Bell pepper, red, fresh
-
1 piece Leek
-
4 teaspoon Spices, paprika
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
500 ml Soup base, chicken, cube
-
pieces Salt, table
-
150 g Sour cream
Steps
-
Wash the chicken breasts, dry them thoroughly with paper towels, and cut them into 2 to 3 cm pieces. Clean and wash the vegetables. Cut the leek into small pieces and the bell pepper into pieces the same size as the meat. Peel the garlic and onion, and finely chop them separately.
-
Heat oil in a large pot and fry the chicken pieces in two or three batches. Remove the cooked meat from the pot and keep it warm on a plate. Add the onion to the pot and sauté until golden, stirring occasionally. Add more oil if needed. Add the leek and bell pepper, and sauté everything together for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Return the meat to the pot and sprinkle with paprika. Add the garlic and sauté everything together for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
-
Pour the broth into the pot and use a wooden spoon to scrape the bottom well, loosening any caramelized bits that formed during frying. Season with pepper and salt to taste, and simmer over moderate heat for 30 minutes. Add more water or broth if needed.
-
Stir in the sour cream into the goulash just before serving. Serve with your chosen side dish.

Instead of breasts, you can use other cuts of chicken (thighs, legs, wings, etc.).
