Ingredients
-
3 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola
-
500 g Meat, chicken, breasts
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Chili peppers, red chili, fresh
-
2 spoons Ketchup
-
200 ml Water
-
200 ml Sweet cream
-
80 g Cucumbers, sour
-
1 spoon Koruzni škrob
-
pieces Salt, table
-
1 handful Parsley, fresh
Steps
-
Rinse the chicken breasts under running water, pat them dry with paper towels, and cut them into smaller pieces. Season with pepper and salt. Peel and finely chop the onion. Rinse the chili, clean it (remove the stem and seeds if desired), and finely chop it.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan and quickly sauté the chicken pieces while stirring. Once the chicken changes color, add the onion and chili to the pan. Continue to sauté while stirring until the onion softens and begins to brown slightly at the edges. Add ketchup and pour in the mixture of cream and water. Use a spatula to scrape the bottom of the pan well to release all the caramelized bits that formed during sautéing. Bring the contents to a gentle boil over medium heat.
-
Drain the pickles and slice them into rings, then add them to the pan with the other ingredients. In a small bowl, mix the starch with a few tablespoons of the sauce until smooth. Pour the mixture into the pan. Stir and cook the dish until it thickens. Season additionally with pepper and salt to taste.
-
Serve the goulash on plates and accompany it with your chosen side dish (cooked rice, gnocchi, dumplings, mashed potatoes). Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Advice
Instead of chicken breasts, you can use other cuts of chicken (thighs, legs, wings, etc.).
