Ingredients
Chicken meatballs
-
500 g Meat, chicken, ground
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
1 spoon Koruzni škrob
-
pieces Salt, table
-
pieces Oil, olive
-
1 piece Onion, raw
-
2 pod Garlic, fresh
-
400 g Tomato, pieces - can
-
pieces Salt, table
-
1 piece Bell pepper, red, fresh
-
200 g Corn, yellow, in brine
-
pieces Basil, fresh
-
40 g Cheese, edamame
Steps
-
Place the ground meat in a bowl and add the egg, cornstarch, and any desired spices. Mix the ingredients well to form a compact mixture, then shape into walnut-sized balls using wet hands.
-
Peel the onion, wash and clean the bell pepper (remove the stem and seeds). Chop the vegetables into pieces. Peel and finely chop the garlic.
-
Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the meatballs. Turn them during cooking to ensure they brown evenly on all sides.
-
Remove the cooked meatballs from the pan and set them aside on a plate. Add the onion to the pan and sauté until translucent. Add the garlic and cook together with the onion for 1 to 2 minutes, then add the canned tomatoes. Mix in the chopped bell pepper and season the sauce with pepper and salt (add a bit of ground chili if you like it spicy). Return the meatballs to the sauce, cover the pan, and cook the dish over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
-
Rinse the canned corn under running water, drain, and add it to the pan along with the chopped basil. Let everything simmer for a bit longer.
-
Once the dish is ready, sprinkle it with grated cheese. Serve with bread or another side dish.
