500 g Meat, chicken, breasts
-
1 piece Green, raw
-
0.5 cups Corn, yellow, fresh
-
0.5 cups Beans, fresh
-
1 cup Green beans, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Rosemary, fresh
-
1 teaspoon Thyme, fresh
-
1 spoon Parsley, fresh
-
1 l Soup base, chicken, cube
-
2 spoons Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
-
pieces Salt, table
Steps
-
Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop them separately. Clean the fresh vegetables, wash them, and cut them into roughly equal-sized cubes. Wash the chicken, dry it with paper towels, and cut it into 1.5 cm pieces.
-
Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the meat, carrots, and potatoes, and cook the ingredients for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the garlic, corn, peas, green beans, and spices, and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
-
Pour the broth into the pot with the ingredients. Use a spatula to scrape the bottom well to release all the caramelized bits that formed during cooking. Season with pepper and salt to taste, and cook over moderate heat until the potatoes are tender.
-
Remove one cup of the liquid from the pot and mix it smoothly with flour. Slowly pour the mixture back into the pot while stirring constantly.
-
Next, prepare the herb dumplings. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and parsley. Add milk and oil, and mix well with a fork until the ingredients come together and form a uniform dough.
-
Scoop the dough with a large spoon and add it in dollops to the pot with the stew. Let the dumplings cook for 5 minutes, then cover the pot and cook the dish for another 15 minutes. Do not uncover the pot while cooking!
-
Once the dumplings are cooked (firm to the touch but soft inside), remove the pot from the heat. Season the stew with additional pepper and salt if desired, serve in deep bowls, and enjoy.
