Ingredients
-
8 pieces Meat, chicken, thighs
-
0.5 dl Butter, unsalted
-
0.5 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
2 piece Orange, fresh
-
8 pods Garlic, fresh
Steps
-
Rinse the chicken thighs under running water and dry them with a paper towel. Place the meat in a large bowl, pour melted butter over it, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Thoroughly wash the oranges and dry them with a paper towel. Peel one orange and use a small cutter to cut small circles from the peel. Cut the other orange in half and juice both halves. Pour the juice over the thighs. Add the peel circles and mix everything well. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator overnight or for at least two hours. Stir the meat a few times during marinating.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Arrange the meat in a deep baking dish and pour the marinade over it (reserve the orange peel circles). Place unpeeled garlic cloves around the dish. Put the dish in the oven and bake the meat for 30 minutes, then add the orange peel and bake for another 10 minutes.
-
Serve the baked thighs and garlic cloves on plates and drizzle with the sauce from the baking dish. A glass of wine and a salad pair excellently with this dish.

Advice
For the marinade, you can also use the following herbs: rosemary, thyme, parsley… The meat can also be marinated in white wine and oil (instead of butter). If you want the meat to be really tender, add a bit of baking soda to the marinade. Instead of orange, you can use lemon. Just make sure that both the orange and lemon are organic, as we use them entirely in the dish and don’t want to consume pesticides. Garlic can also be peeled, chopped…, and you can also add onion.
