Chicken with Lemon and Broccoli

Ingredients

2 spoons Oil, vegetable oil, canola

700 g Meat, chicken, breasts

200 g Broccoli, fresh

pieces Ginger, fresh

2 pod Garlic, fresh

200 ml Soup base, chicken, cube

1 teaspoon Koruzni škrob

1 teaspoon Honey

2 piece Chili peppers, red chili, fresh

pieces Lemon zest, fresh

Steps

Rinse the chicken fillets under running water and dry them well with paper towels. Cut them into strips. Wash the chili peppers and slice them into rings. Remove the seeds if desired. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Wash the broccoli and separate it into individual florets. Cut large florets in half, leaving the smaller ones whole. Peel and finely grate a piece of ginger.

Heat oil in a wok (or large pan). Add the chicken strips and fry them for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are nicely browned on all sides. Remove the cooked meat from the wok and keep it warm on a plate. Add the broccoli, ginger, and garlic to the wok. Stir-fry for one minute, then cover the wok and steam for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the broccoli softens slightly.

In a small bowl, mix honey, broth base, and starch. Pour the mixture into the wok. Cook while stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens, then add the chili peppers and the cooked chicken. Mix well and season with lemon zest and juice. Stir, taste, and add more salt if needed.

Serve the prepared dish with cooked rice or pasta.
