Ingredients
-
400 g Chickpea, cooked
-
1 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
-
1 piece Parsley, fresh
-
0.5 piece Onion, raw
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
0.75 teaspoons Salt, table
-
1 pinch Spices, pepper, black
-
100 g Breadcrumbs, dried
-
3 spoons Oil, olive
Steps
-
Drain the chickpeas from the can, rinse them under running water, and drain well. Peel the onion and roughly chop it. Wash the parsley sprigs if needed, dry them thoroughly, and roughly chop. Wash the lemon and dry it with a kitchen towel. Finely grate the zest, then cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half.
-
Place the drained chickpeas in an electric food processor. Add the onion, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix the ingredients well.
-
Transfer the mixture from the food processor to a bowl and mix in 80g of breadcrumbs. Shape the mixture into four patties, then coat them in the remaining breadcrumbs. Place the prepared patties on a plate and refrigerate for a while to cool and firm up.
-
Heat oil in a pan. Add the patties and cook them over medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side until they are nicely golden brown. Be careful not to let the temperature get too high, as the patties can burn quickly.
-
Serve the cooked patties on plates with a side salad.

Advice
Instead of parsley, you can use cilantro, and if desired, add a bit of ground cumin or chili powder for extra flavor.
