Chocolate Fondant
Chocolate fondant is a French dessert that delights every chocolate lover. It is very similar to a soufflé, but the fondant is turned out of the mold before serving, and unlike a true soufflé, it also contains a little flour.

Ingredients
-
pieces Butter, unsalted
-
120 g Butter, unsalted
-
120 g chocolate, dark
-
2 piece Egg, fresh
-
2 piece Egg, egg yolk, fresh
-
60 g Powdered sugar
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
60 g Wheat flour, white, multi-purpose
Steps
-
Grease five round, heat-resistant molds (approximately 180 ml capacity) with butter and dust with cocoa powder (remove any excess cocoa).
-
Fill a small saucepan up to 1/3 with water and place it on the stove. Chop the butter and chocolate into small pieces and place them in a bowl. When the water in the saucepan boils, place the bowl with the chocolate and butter on top. Make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water in the saucepan. Slowly melt the butter and chocolate over the water bath. Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and gently stir to create a smooth chocolate cream.
-
Using an electric mixer, beat the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and salt for 3 to 4 minutes, or until a light, creamy mixture forms. Reduce the mixer speed and slowly mix in the cooled chocolate mixture (the melted butter and chocolate). Finally, sift the flour over the mixture and gently fold it in.
-
Fill the greased molds with the chocolate mixture and place them in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the baking tray in the middle position and let it heat up well. Once hot, place the molds with the cooled chocolate mixture on the tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes. When the surface of the cake is nicely baked but the inside is still runny, the dessert is ready.
-
Remove the molds with the baked chocolate fondants from the oven and let them cool for one minute. Then, turn them out onto a plate and serve immediately. Offer with whipped cream and fresh fruit or fruit sauce.
