Christmas Reindeer Cookies
This year, Rudolf the reindeer also came to visit us. He looked wonderful, but his little nose was completely frozen. We admired him for a while and even placed him on the Christmas tree. But because he smelled so good, we now feel very sorry for him.

Ingredients
-
90 g Sugar, brown
-
200 g Syrup, corn
-
1 teaspoon Spices, ginger, ground
-
1 teaspoon Spices, cinnamon, ground
-
0.25 teaspoons Spices, cloves, ground
-
115 g Butter, unsalted
-
2 teaspoons Baking powder
-
1 piece Egg, fresh
-
500 g Flour, Wheat, bread flour
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
-
1 handful Breadcrumbs, dried
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Line two large baking trays with parchment paper. Place a larger pot on the stove and heat sugar, corn syrup, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves over medium heat. Stir the mixture well several times. Once it boils, remove the pot from the stove. Let the sugar mixture cool slightly.
-
Cut the butter into pieces. Place the butter pieces in a large bowl and pour the sugar and spice mixture over them. Add baking soda and mix until the butter is completely dissolved.
-
Crack an egg into a separate bowl and beat it with a fork. Add the beaten egg to the mixture in the bowl and slowly add the flour. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and knead until a smooth and firm dough forms. Divide the dough into 4 parts. Shape each part of the dough as you go, keeping the remaining dough in a plastic bag in the meantime.
-
Shape each part of the dough into approximately 4 cm balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking trays and flatten them slightly. Use a wooden skewer to make indentations for the eyes, and use red candies for the nose. Break pretzels in half and use the halves to make antlers.
-
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes. Let the baked cookies cool on a wire rack. Arrange the prepared cookies on a serving platter and offer them to your guests.

Advice
With a wooden skewer, you can make holes next to the eye indentations and hang the baked reindeer cookies on the Christmas tree.
