Ingredients

350 g Rice, white, long grain

2 dl Coconut milk

40 g Ginger, fresh

1 pinch Salt, table
Steps

Peel a piece of fresh ginger with a peeler. Rinse the rice in a colander under running water until the water runs clear. Then drain it well and transfer it to a thick-bottomed pot. Add coconut milk, 2 dl of water, fresh ginger, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well.

Place the pot on the stove and bring the liquid to a boil. Reduce the heat so that the liquid simmers gently, then cover the pot and cook the rice for 10 minutes.

After ten minutes, remove the pot from the heat and let the covered rice stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove the piece of ginger from the rice and discard it. Fluff the rice well with a fork and serve it hot.

Advice
You can use jasmine, basmati, or another long-grain rice. The piece of ginger root should be about 5 cm long.
