Ingredients
Apples
-
2 piece Apples, rose
-
pieces Juice, lemon
-
40 g Butter, unsalted
-
2 spoons Sugar, white
-
500 ml Milk, whole milk
-
1 pinch Salt, table
-
100 g Semolina
-
4 pieces Egg, fresh
-
120 g Sugar, white
-
1 bag Sugar, white
-
pieces Lemon zest, fresh
-
500 g Cheese, cottage cheese
-
pieces Butter, unsalted
-
pieces Powdered sugar
Steps
-
Wash the apples, peel them, remove the cores, and cut them into quarters. Slice them into pieces and drizzle with lemon juice.
-
Melt the butter in a pan. Add sugar, and once it dissolves and turns a nice golden brown, add the apple pieces to the pan. Quickly sauté them while stirring (just enough to soften them slightly). Remove from heat and let cool.
-
In a small pot, bring milk to a boil with a pinch of salt. Add semolina to the boiling milk and cook. Let the cooked semolina cool.
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Mix the yolks with regular and vanilla sugar, cottage cheese, and lemon zest into the cooled semolina (use an electric mixer for help). Beat the egg whites into stiff peaks and gently fold them into the cottage cheese mixture in two or three parts using a hand whisk.
-
Grease a round baking dish with butter. First, pour half of the mixture into the dish and spread the apple pieces over it. Cover with the remaining mixture, smoothing and leveling the top. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes. It is done when the top turns a nice golden brown.
-
Let the pie cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, and optionally serve with whipped cream on the side.
