Ingredients
-
4 pieces Egg, fresh
-
150 g Sugar, white
-
70 g Koruzni škrob
-
10 g Baking powder
-
400 g Cheese, cottage cheese
-
2 dl Milk, whole milk
-
2 piece Lemon, fresh, without shell
-
500 g Strawberries
-
1 spoon Marmalade, orange
Steps
-
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a round cake pan, 20 centimeters in diameter, and line it with parchment paper.
-
Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and beat the latter into stiff peaks. Beat the egg yolks together with 100 grams of sugar until the mixture doubles in volume.
-
Gradually mix 50 grams of cornstarch into the egg yolks, followed by the baking powder. Then add the cottage cheese, milk, and grated lemon zest. Finally, gently and slowly fold the beaten egg whites into the mixture with a spatula.
-
Cut half of the strawberries into pieces, sprinkle them with the remaining cornstarch, mix, and add them to the batter. Pour the mixture into the cake pan.
-
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, covering it with aluminum foil towards the end of baking if necessary. After baking, let it cool slightly, then invert it onto a plate. Remove the parchment paper from the bottom and place the cake on a cake stand or serving plate.
-
Cut the remaining strawberries into pieces and quickly cook them with the remaining sugar, lemon juice, and strawberry jam. Pour the strawberry topping over the cake.

Advice
If we only have a baking pan with a removable bottom, we place a tray underneath it while baking, just in case some liquid leaks out.
