Coarsely chop the slices of smoked salmon. Wash the lime and thoroughly dry it with a paper towel. Finely grate the zest.

Place the cream cheese in a bowl. Mash and mix it well with a fork. Add the salmon, grated lime zest, and dill, and mix everything together thoroughly. Season the spread to taste with lime juice, and optionally add a bit of freshly ground pepper. Serve it in a small bowl or dish and offer it with fresh or toasted bread.
